If we are not careful we can get caught just bumbling along in life. Sometimes this may be just what we need but mostly it can lead to us getting stagnant, just slowly moving around in circles, caught in the eddies at the sides of the river of life. As you can imagine, this is disasterous for our creativity. If we are caught like this, it is hard to free ourselves so it is important to find inspiration in little ways so as to awaken that creativity within us and continue to feed it so as to start moving forward again.
Some ways we can do this is to take a walk in nature, listen to birdsong, sit within the colours of nature. The greens, blues and earthy colours resonate with our being and help to calm us. From that place of calm we can think more clearly and allow our creativity to bubble up. We could also spend time talking to like minded creatives, or rolling up our sleeves and trying a new craft workshop or artistic pursuit.
We are all different so what works for one, doesn’t always work for another and it takes time and practise. Make time in this new year to find out what works for you and how your inspiration and creativity can best be nurtured. We all have it within us, so what are you waiting for?
